4. Power Supplies: 

For many fire alarm systems, power supplies cover main power from the breaker, (2) 12V batteries as a backup for 24 hours, and sometimes a generator as backup power. The batteries can be housed in the control panel or in an external container. If the electricity goes out, the batteries will take over, allowing the system to safeguard the building from fire for another 24 hours. In the event of a power loss, a generator can provide power for longer periods of time.

5. Auxiliary Devices: 

A fire alarm system can be supplemented with a variety of auxiliary devices to improve fire protection in a facility.
